TimiLab Affiliate Program

Affiliate Disclosure Guidelines

How TimiLab partners should tell their audience about our affiliate relationship — clearly, honestly and in line with the FTC Endorsement Guides.

01Why disclosure matters

When you earn a commission from TimiLab, you have a material connection with us. Under the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guides, anyone who recommends a product and has a material connection with the seller must disclose it clearly. Similar rules apply in many other countries and on most social platforms.

Good disclosure also builds trust: landlords and property owners are more likely to buy on the recommendation of someone who is upfront about how they are paid.

02When to disclose

Disclose every time your content contains a TimiLab affiliate link, affiliate coupon code, or a recommendation you are compensated for, including:

  • Websites & blogs
  • Product reviews
  • YouTube & video
  • Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X
  • Email newsletters
  • Forums & groups
  • Podcasts & livestreams
  • Printed flyers with QR codes
Rule of thumb: if a reasonable reader might not realize you earn money from the link, you need a disclosure.

03How to disclose

A disclosure must be clear and conspicuous — easy to notice, easy to understand and hard to miss.

Do

  • Place it close to the recommendation or link, before the reader clicks.
  • Use plain words such as “affiliate link”, “I earn a commission” or “#ad”.
  • Put it before the “…more” cut-off in captions.
  • Say it out loud and show it on screen in videos.
  • Repeat it in each post — not just once on your profile.

Don’t

  • Hide it in a footer, “About” page or a link labelled “disclosure”.
  • Rely on vague tags like #sp, #collab, #partner or #thanks.
  • Bury it among a long list of hashtags.
  • Use only the platform’s built-in tag when it is easy to overlook.
  • Use small, faint or quickly-disappearing text.

05Platform guidance

YouTube & video

Say the disclosure in the video, near the start and before you mention TimiLab, and show it on screen. Turn on the platform’s “includes paid promotion” setting and repeat it in the description above the fold.

Instagram, TikTok & Facebook

Start the caption with #ad or “Affiliate link” and use the paid-partnership label where available. In Stories and Reels, put the disclosure on the image or video itself.

Blogs & websites

Add a short disclosure at the top of the article, above the first affiliate link, and next to buttons or product boxes that link to TimiLab.

Email & newsletters

Disclose in the body of the email near the link — not only in the footer. Follow CAN-SPAM and only email people who opted in.

Podcasts & livestreams

Say it at the beginning and repeat it periodically during long streams, since viewers join at different times.

Print & QR codes

Print the disclosure beside the QR code or coupon — e.g. “I earn a commission on purchases through this code.”

06Partner responsibilities

  • Disclose your relationship with TimiLab clearly and consistently.
  • Describe TimiLab products accurately — features, compatibility and pricing must match our website.
  • Never promise guaranteed income, returns or results for laundry businesses.
  • Only share honest opinions based on your own experience; do not invent reviews or testimonials.
  • Do not bid on TimiLab brand terms in paid search or impersonate TimiLab or its staff.
  • Do not spam, use misleading redirects, or refer purchases to yourself.
  • Follow applicable laws, FTC guidance, platform rules and the TimiLab program terms.
Compliance: TimiLab may review partner content. Content that is misleading or lacks disclosure may lead to removal requests, withheld commissions on affected orders or account suspension.

07Automatic disclosures

Some promotional templates in your partner dashboard may include disclosure text automatically. This is a convenience only — it can be turned off and does not cover content you write yourself. You remain responsible for adding an appropriate disclosure to everything you publish.

08Frequently asked questions

Is a disclosure on my profile or “About” page enough?

No. Readers may never see it. Disclose in each post, video or email that contains your link or recommendation.

Do I need to disclose if I only share a coupon code?

Yes. An affiliate coupon earns you a commission just like a link, so the same disclosure rules apply.

Is “#affiliate” enough on its own?

Usually yes, if it appears prominently at the start of the caption. Plain sentences such as “I earn a commission from this link” are even clearer.

I bought the product myself. Do I still need to disclose?

Yes, if you are using an affiliate link or code. Disclose the commission; you can also mention that you bought it yourself.

Does this apply outside the United States?

Yes. Most countries have similar advertising rules (for example the UK ASA/CMA and Canada’s Competition Bureau). Follow the strictest rules that apply to your audience.
